Why Experts Choose Elkins Marine
I'm the spirit of EMTIN — and I'm here to tell you everything about who we are, what we stand for, and why the best maritime professionals in Nigeria and beyond train with us.
Our Vision
To be Africa's most trusted maritime training institution — producing world-class seafarers, security professionals, and maritime leaders who are recognised and respected in every port on earth.
Our Mission
To deliver IMO-approved, NIMASA-approved maritime training that is rigorous, relevant, and accessible — equipping every student with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel at sea and ashore.
Our Core Values
Excellence
We set the standard. Every course, every instructor, every certificate we issue reflects our commitment to the highest quality of maritime training in Nigeria.
Integrity
We do what we say. Our certifications are earned, not given. Our students leave as genuinely competent, confident maritime professionals.
Innovation
We invest in the best simulators, the latest IMO model courses, and forward-thinking instructors so our students are always ahead of the industry.
Inclusion
Maritime careers are for everyone. We welcome seafarers, engineers, security officers, and shore-based professionals from all backgrounds.
Impact
We don't just train individuals — we build careers, strengthen companies, and raise the safety standard of the entire Nigerian maritime sector.
Why Experts Choose Elkins Marine
IMO-Approved & NIMASA-Endorsed
Every course we offer meets International Maritime Organization standards and is endorsed by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency. Your certificate is recognised worldwide.
Experienced Instructors
Our instructors are active or recently retired maritime professionals — Master Mariners, Chief Engineers, GMDSS operators, and security specialists with real sea-time and operational experience.
State-of-the-Art Simulators
From our full-mission bridge simulator to our GMDSS communications suite and tanker cargo control room, we train on equipment that mirrors what you will find at sea.
Proven Track Record
Thousands of Nigerian and international seafarers have advanced their careers through EMTIN. Our alumni serve on vessels operated by the world's leading shipping companies.
More Than Maritime
We develop the whole professional — not just the certificate. Our students leave with stronger leadership, better communication, and the confidence to perform under pressure.
International Reach
Through our Elite Training programme, we deliver residential courses in London, Dubai, Frankfurt, Singapore, Houston, and Owerri — bringing world-class training to wherever you are.
Developing True Professionals
At EMTIN, we believe a great seafarer is more than their certificates. We develop top performers who stand out in the workplace — professionals with the leadership, discipline, and character to rise to the top of their careers.
Technical Mastery
Deep, practical knowledge of GMDSS, ECDIS, tanker operations, safety systems, and security protocols — trained on real simulators, not just theory.
Leadership & Teamwork
BRM, ERM, and HELM courses build the bridge and engine room resource management skills that separate good officers from great ones.
Professionalism & Discipline
We instil the standards of conduct, punctuality, and attention to detail that shipping companies demand and that flag state inspectors expect.
Career Guidance
We help our students understand the career pathways available to them — from cadet to Master, from rating to Chief Engineer, from officer to maritime executive.
