This course is intended to inform sea going personnel on the concept of engine room resource management. It seeks to deliver an understanding of the human factors involved as well as, the ability to control them.

It is expected that every person completing it will be more competent in carrying out their engineering role in the operation of a ship or a large, live-aboard vehicle, operating in differing natural, technological and regulatory environments, often over extended periods of time, efficiently, safely, cleanly and securely, with a team that may be large, multicultural and with varying levels of competence.
